People at that time were in need for new , wild and free meanings , in beautiful and simple words that can touch the hearts . When all that was needed, they were there, SAVAGE GARDEN. They changed all that wildness to beauty. It is really astonishing to know that only two persons are the ones who created it, they are SAVAGE GARDEN.

Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones are the members of the australian band SAVAGE GARDEN that was created 5 years ago and won the love and admiration of millions of fans around the world.

It all started when Daniel put an advertisement in a newspaper asking for a singer & Darren was the last one to audition but also the most talented. the duo soon started singing . first they sang covers & songs from other singers then they started writing their own songs. They wew influenced by the famous band in the 80's TEARS FOR FEARS.

Their first hit was ( I WANT YOU ) and it achieved a huge success. Then came their second hit that Darren wrote which is ( TO THE MOON AND BACK ) which reflects the feeling of being unable to trust anybody. Then their third hit was released which was ( TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY ) that pushed the duo to the top of Charts for a very long time, it was written by Darren to his wife from whom he is now separated .

After the massive success of their first self-titled album, the duo released their second album AFFIRMATION at the end of 1999 & now the band is taking a break after spending last year touring & performing concerts. Darren Hayes is now going solo but the band will unite again, maybe at 2002 to record a third album.
